Instrument Disinfection (Sterilisation)

With the help of a high level disinfectant, healthcare workers can combat challenges of timely reprocessing. Genex has created a series of disinfecting & sterilizing products using either ortho-Phthalaldehyde (OPA) or glutaraldehyde for high level disinfection. The Genex family of glutaraldehyde products is noncorrosive and has excellent instrument compatibility for high level disinfection of endoscopes as well as sterilization of heat-sensitive surgical instruments, and other medical devices.

Our OPAguard Solution is designed to high level disinfect heat-sensitive semi-critical medical devices where sterilization is not suitable. This is ideal for healthcare facilities that need a fast, yet gentle solution to reprocess semi-critical devices.

Genex OpaGuard Solution provides high level disinfection through a broad spectrum of kill including TB, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B, HIV-1, and Poliovirus 1.

The high level disinfection products – Instrugen – are available in two twoconcentrations of glutaraldehyde 2% and 2.45% respectively. Instrugen is recommended for lensed instruments, such as flexible and/or rigid scopes, and is compatible with heat-sensitive medical equipment and instrumentation. This sterilant is reusable for up to 28days.

OPAguard provide high level disinfection, are recommended for immersible and heat-sensitive equipment and instruments, and are both reusable for up to 14days. Genex also offers chemical indicator test strips as a simple monitoring system for these high level disinfection products on demand or on special request.
